  • Elements associated to the spit passenger are transferred to the associate PNR.
  • *SP (split) element is added, including the agent sign, the duty code, the office ID, and the record locator of the parent PNR.
  1. Enter a received from element. For example, enter:
    RFMR SMITH

  2. Enter EF to end and file the PNR.

  • *SP element is added, including the date of the split, the agent sign, the office ID, and the record locator of the associate PNR.
  1. Enter a received from element. Enter, for example:
    RFMR SMITH

  2. Enter ET to finalize the split.

    System response:
    ET
    END OF TRANSACTION COMPLETE - 4DDU8U SP-4DD5LL
Important: Be sure to finalize the split before you modify the PNRs, to avoid synchronization issues with the airline.
Note: If you receive the warning SECURE FLT PASSENGER DATA REQUIRED FOR TICKETING PAX after the EF entry, enter EF again. This will file the PNR and end the transaction in the parent PNR.

To split multiple passengers, separate the passenger numbers by a comma (,) for multiple elements or a dash (-) for a range of passengers. For example:

  1. To split passengers 1, 3, and 5, enter:
    SP1,3,5

  2. To split passengers 3 to 6, enter:
    SP3-6

  3. To split passengers 1 and 3 and the range of passengers from 5 to 8, enter:
    SP1,3,5-8

When you split a PNR, elements associated to the passengers being split are transferred to the new PNR.

PNR elements without advice codes, status codes, and passenger associations are normally duplicated in the split PNR. You can manually retain elements in the original PNR or transfer them to the associate PNR.

  • To retain elements in the parent PNR, enter the element number followed by .0

  • To transfer the element to the associate PNR, enter the element number followed by .1

The AXR (associated cross reference record) tag in the header of the PNR indicates that a split has been done and that associated PNRs exist.

To display the list of associated PNRs, enter:
    RTAXR

      AXR FOR PNR: 4DXX9T 03DEC 1514
