How to add an infant to a ticketed PNR (Cryptic)

Procedure

If you try to add an infant to a ticketed PNR, you receive the following error message: RESTRICTED - FA/ET EXISTS.

  1. Contact the airline to check the following:
    • Whether you can make the change
    • Whether the adult passenger traveling with the infant is authorized to get a full refund of their ticket
    • Whether you can issue a new ticket for the adult passenger at the original fare and conditions
    • The fare for the infant ticket

  2. If more than one passenger is in the PNR, split the adult passenger from the PNR and associate the infant with that passenger. Enter, for example:
    SP1 > RFyour name > EF >RFyour name

  3. Fully refund the adult passenger's ticket and keep the classes booked. Enter, for example:
    • TRF/L10 (L10 = FA line)
    • TRFU/WA123456 (WA followed by the waiver code received from the airline, if any)
    • TRFP

  4. Remove the FA line for the adult passenger from the PNR. Enter, for example:
    XE10
Note: You can remove an FA line only after the ticket has been refunded.
  5. Associate the infant to the adult passenger. Enter, for example:
    1/(INFSMITH/JOE/25JAN24)

  6. Create the TST for the infant. Enter, for example:
    FXP/INF

If segments are flown, create a manual TST, for example, enter:
TTC/INF, and then use the TTK entry to add the fare information.

  7. Issue the tickets for the infant and adult passengers. Enter, for example:
    TTP/P1

See HE TTK for more information.
